Finding the right location for a prewedding in Cam Ranh
Lisa and Carlos chose The Anam Cam Ranh for their destination wedding in Vietnam. Because Lisa's family is Vietnamese, they wanted their prewedding photographs to feel genuinely connected to the atmosphere of the country — something honest and calm rather than the kind of imagery that could have been taken anywhere. While Cam Ranh is known for its beautiful coastline and luxury resorts, finding a location that carried that feeling took more than a quick Google search. Together with Hygge Lab, we arrived a day early and spent hours driving through small roads near the coast until we found a quiet fishing village where local fishermen gathered before sunset.Peaceful, private, and completely untouched — it was exactly what the story needed.
A prewedding approach designed for couples with a connection to Vietnam
Because their wedding would already include two full days of traditional áo dài and formal attire, we wanted this session to feel the opposite — light, relaxed, and easy to move in.
One casual outfit each. A soft silk dress for Lisa, linen for Carlos. And one simple detail added quietly: the nón lá — familiar enough to feel personal, minimal enough to never feel like a costume.
We began at 3 PM inside the resort while the afternoon light was still soft, then moved to the fishing village around 4:30 PM to catch the final hour of sunset on the water. That timing made all the difference.

These photographs became part of a journey that continued well beyond the prewedding session. Not long after, Lisa and Carlos returned to The Anam Cam Ranh for a destination wedding weekend filled with heartfelt vows, family traditions, and unforgettable moments by the sea.
