Before gathering with family and friends for their destination wedding celebration, Lisa and Carlos chose to honor their Vietnamese and Chinese heritage through a traditional tea ceremony at The Anam Cam Ranh. Surrounded by family members who had traveled from different parts of the world, the morning became a meaningful celebration of culture, family, and the traditions that connected generations together.

GETTING READY TOGETHER AT THE ANAM CAM RANH

The day began quietly inside the villa as family members gathered to prepare for the ceremony. With traditional áo dài, thoughtful details, and loved ones arriving from different countries, the atmosphere felt both intimate and meaningful — a reflection of the family's connection to their cultural roots despite living far from Vietnam.

A TRADITIONAL TEA CEREMONY HONORING FAMILY HERITAGE

Through the exchange of tea, blessings, and family introductions, Lisa and Carlos celebrated traditions that have been passed down through generations. The ceremony created an opportunity for both families to come together, honoring Vietnamese and Chinese customs while marking the beginning of a new chapter in the couple's life.

AN EVENING OF FOOD, LAUGHTER, AND LÔ TÔ

After the tea ceremony, the celebration continued with an intimate dinner by the riverside. Surrounded by family and close friends, the evening unfolded naturally through conversations, shared meals, and a lively game of lô tô that brought everyone together in a way that felt joyful, familiar, and uniquely Vietnamese.

Why traditional tea ceremonies remain an important part of modern weddings

For many couples living abroad, a traditional tea ceremony offers an opportunity to reconnect with family traditions and cultural heritage before the wedding celebration begins. Whether held at home, in a villa, or alongside a destination wedding weekend, these ceremonies create meaningful moments between generations and remind us that weddings are not only about two people, but also about the families and histories that bring them together.
