JARDIN DE ROM: GREEN LANDSCAPE, CLASSIC AND PRIVATE SPACE FOR PREWEDDING NEAR SAIGON
Updated: 3 days ago

Couples planning a pre-wedding shoot near Saigon often expect a trade-off: either stay close and settle for a generic backdrop, or travel far for something worth photographing.
Jardin de Rom removes that trade-off. Dense greenery, a quiet lake, and European classical architecture — 90 minutes from the city. For couples based in Singapore, it's also worth noting: this kind of setting simply doesn't exist there. Lush, private, and unhurried — it's part of what keeps bringing overseas couples back to Vietnam to shoot.
Just 90 Minutes from Saigon to Jardin de Rom for a pre-wedding photography
Jardin de Rom sits close enough to Ho Chi Minh City for a comfortable day trip, but the setting feels genuinely removed from the city.
The landscape layers in a way that photographs naturally — tall trees filtering afternoon light, open stretches of green, a calm lake that reflects everything above it, and French colonial architectural details woven throughout. There’s no single hero shot. Every corner has something worth pointing a camera at.
For Singapore-based couples, the appeal is straightforward: Vietnam offers natural settings and light that’s difficult to find in an urban city-state. Jardin de Rom specifically offers a version of that which is effortless to reach from Ho Chi Minh City.

A Morning at Jardin de Rom with Duy & Huong
Duy and Huong live in Saigon. They found us on Instagram, and when we started talking about where to shoot, they wanted green space and quiet without losing a whole day to travel. Jardin de Rom made sense straight away.
We started early. By the time makeup was done, the first sun of the morning was just reaching the garden, low and soft between the trees. The two of them went for a walk with nowhere in particular to go. Then one of them put a quiet song on their phone, and they started to slow dance on the path.
Nobody asked them to. It's the moment I still remember most from that day.

Later we added a vintage car for a few frames. It's a separate rental, not part of the package, and it brings an older, film-like feel against the green. On the same day we also photographed them at Renaissance Saigon and on a sunset cruise along the Saigon River. You can see the whole story in Duy & Huong's gallery.

Three Couples Per Session — By Design
Jardin de Rom limits each session to three couples. Not for exclusivity’s sake — for practicality.
You won’t be waiting for a corner of the garden to clear. You won’t have strangers walking through your frame. The space stays calm, and you have the time to settle in before the camera starts moving.
For couples who feel self-conscious in front of a lens, this matters more than it might seem. The best pre-wedding photos come when people forget they’re being photographed. That’s harder to achieve when you’re navigating a crowd.
When to Shoot: Time of Day and Season
I prefer mornings at Jardin de Rom. The light is still gentle and the air is cool, which makes a real difference when you're wearing a gown and a suit.
It does mean an early start. You'll be up a little earlier than usual so we can get there, do your makeup on site and begin while the garden is still quiet. It's a small price. Once makeup is done, you get the best part of the day out in the fresh air. Around 10 a.m. the sun gets high and harsh, and that's usually when we finish and head back to the city.
Saigon has two seasons: dry, roughly December to April, and rainy, from about May to November. We shoot at Jardin de Rom in both. During the rainy months we avoid afternoon sessions, because that's when the storms usually come.
Rain in Saigon rarely lasts long. If it starts, we move inside for a while or use the covered corners of the garden, then go back out once it clears. If it's only light rain, we bring umbrellas and keep shooting in it.

What to Wear at Jardin de Rom
The package already includes your wedding gown from Lecia Bridal and a made-to-measure suit from Tiemen, so the formal look is taken care of. You can wear up to two outfits during the session.
For the second one, we usually suggest something casual, the kind of thing you'd wear together on a weekend. That gives your gallery two moods: one formal, and one closer to your everyday life.
Soft, neutral colours sit best against the greenery and the classical buildings. Shoes matter less than people expect, so wear whatever is comfortable.
If you're still deciding, here's how we think about prewedding outfits.

What Sonder Studio's Jardin de Rom Package Includes
We built this package around how the location works best — and to handle every logistical detail so the day is only about the two of you.
The session runs 3 hours, led by a Sonder founder with one assistant. Makeup accompanies you throughout. A fresh bouquet is included. Location rental and round-trip transportation from Saigon are covered.
You receive 40 edited photos, a 30x20cm 40-page album, one 60x90cm large print, and a slideshow.
The bridal gown is sourced from Lecia Bridal — one of Vietnam’s most respected bridal labels. The groom receives a bespoke made-to-measure suit from Tiemen — tailored to him, kept after the shoot.
Price: 41,000,000 VND (about S$2,000) — everything above included. The SGD figure is approximate and moves with the exchange rate.
Who This Is For
Couples who want pre-wedding photos that look considered, not constructed. Who want to arrive somewhere beautiful without a two-day trip. Who want to feel like themselves on the day rather than performing for a camera.
If you’re in Saigon, it’s a half-day. If you’re flying in from Singapore, it fits cleanly around a Vietnam visit. Either way, the photos will outlast the logistics.
Questions Couples Ask Us About Jardin de Rom
How much does a Jardin de Rom prewedding cost?
Our Jardin de Rom package is 41,000,000 VND, about S$2,000. It includes the gown, a made-to-measure suit you keep, makeup, a bouquet, location fees, transport from Saigon, 40 edited photos, an album and a large print.
How far is Jardin de Rom from Saigon?
About 90 minutes by car. Round-trip transport from Saigon is included in the package.
How long is the session?
The shoot runs about three hours. We usually start early in the morning and finish around 10 a.m., before the sun gets too strong.
What happens if it rains?
Rain in Saigon is usually short. In the rainy season we book morning sessions, wait it out indoors or under cover if it starts, and shoot with umbrellas if it's light.
Can we bring our own outfits?
Yes. The package already covers your gown and suit at a good price, so most couples simply add one casual outfit of their own.
We live abroad. How many days do we need in Saigon?
Plan to arrive at least one day before the shoot. That day is for choosing your gown and the final fitting of your suit. We start the suit with you online before you fly in, so in Saigon it only needs a last check. You shoot the next morning and rest in the afternoon. The day after, you can fly home or stay a little longer. We'll help you plan the timing.
When will we get our photos?
About 10 days after the shoot. Everything is delivered through an online gallery, so you don't need to stay in Vietnam to wait for them.
